This suit was brought by appellee against appellant to recover damages for breach of contract. In his petition appellee alleges, in substance, that on February 25, 1908, he and appellant, who was on said date and is now a merchant engaged in the purchase and sale in large quantities of cotton seed meal and cake, entered into a contract in writing, whereby he was to render to appellant services as a chemist from September 1, 1908, to July 1, 1909, for which services appellant agreed to pay him the sum of $3,000, payable in monthly installments of $300 each.
