BARRON, Circuit Judge.
Persis Trinidad was convicted of violating the Maritime Drug Law Enforcement Act (“MDLEA”) after his vessel was intercepted by United States authorities. Trinidad appeals the District Court’s application of a sentencing enhancement to him.1 That enhancement applies if the defendant “acted as a pilot, copilot, captain, navigator, flight officer, or any other operation officer” on a vessel carrying controlled substances.
