Baker, Chief Justice.

The respondent (plaintiff below) brought this action against the appellant, City of Greenville, claiming damages in the amount of $2,500.00 which she alleged had been caused to her property by the failure of the appellant to furnish adequate drainage for carrying off and disposing of the surface water from certain public streets when the natural drainage of the area in question was changed by the City by the installation of curbs, gutters and sidewalks.
