Keith Chung was charged by information with two counts of cruelty to an animal and possession of a controlled substance. (Pen. Code, *724§ 597, subd. (a); Health & Saf. Code, § 11350, subd. (a).)1 Prior to trial, Chung moved to suppress evidence seized during a search of his residence on the theory the police lacked exigent circumstances justifying warrantless entry.
