OPINION

O’CONNOR, Justice.

At issue in this case is the standard of care imposed upon a school district to ensure a student’s safety after disembarking a school bus, and the limits of the legisla ture s waiver of sovereign immunity. We are asked to decide if the trial court erred in granting the motion for summary judgment made by the defendants, Edward Charles Hutchison and Houston Independent School District (HISD). We find it did not and affirm.
