Plaintiff/appellee Gladys Pounds brought this medical malpractice action against Roy Wendell Deen, M.D., and others contending that Dr. Deen committed various acts of negligence in prescribing her Reglan, and that because of his negligence she developed irreversible tardive dyskinesia, a neurological disorder that results in involuntary and uncontrollable movements of various parts of the body including the tongue, face, and limbs.
