RULING ON MOTION FOR PRELIMINARY INJUNCTION
ARTERTON, District Judge.
The plaintiffs, both African-Americans and both unsuccessful applicants to the Town of Hamden’s fire department, seek a preliminary injunction to enjoin the defendants from any further hiring of entry-level firefighters from the 1997 entry-level firefighters eligibility list pending full trial on their discrimination claims. Plaintiffs contend that the 1997 written examination had a disparate impact on minority firefighter applicants in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as amended in 1991.
