The appellants, W. T. Rankin and J. C. McDermott, sued O. M. Bhea and J. T. Caddell, the appellees, on a promissory note, executed by the latter to the former, for the sum of $500, dated October 3, 1911, and due “on or before” August 1, 1912, bearing interest from date at the rate of 10 per cent., and providing for the usual attorney’s fees, which note was secured by a chattel mortgage on a well drill and equipment, the note bearing credits made at different dates, amounting to the sum of $179.
