In 1888 one William A. Umlauf was the owner of land in the city of Buffalo in a block bounded by Yale Place, Seneca Street, Princeton Place and Cazenovia Creek. He plotted these lands, and a map thereof was made in 1888 and filed in March, 1889, in the office of the county clerk of Erie County. Yale Place and Princeton Place are parallel streets, and all the lots, as plotted, front on one of these streets and extend to the middle line of the block, parallel to these streets.
