This was a suit for damages against the Railway Company by Cartledge, who set forth in his petition the following allegations of fact: “ On the 30th day of June, 1900, he was5 in the employment of the United States Government in the railway mail service, and was, in the course of his employment, on said day riding upon the train and in a car of the said company."'
