RATLIFF, Judge.

STATEMENT OF THE CASE

The State appeals from the trial court's entry of a judgment for the plaintiff-appel-lee in the amount of $237,000 plus court costs of $1,122. We affirm in part and reverse in part.

FACTS

Faye L. Wilbur (Wilbur), as administra-trix of her husband's estate, filed a wrongful death action against the State on March 4, 1982. Frederick Wilbur died as a result of injuries he received in a two car collision. The accident occurred on a rainslicked state highway in November, 1980.
