—The defendant, who was accused of having committed the crime of grand theft, pleaded not guilty on arraignment and was tried before a jury which returned a verdict of conviction. He presented a motion for a new trial, which was denied. He then made application for probation, which was likewise denied, and judgment was pronounced against him. From the trial court’s order denying the motion for a new trial and from the judgment rendered as aforesaid defendant appeals. The notice of appeal recites that an appeal is also taken from the verdict and from the order denying defendant’s application…
