St. Paul Insurance Company, Holly Ger-laugh (a nurse practitioner), David Shinstrom (a physician), and Maine Dartmouth Family Practice Residency Program (the plaintiffs) appeal from the judgment entered in the Superior Court (Kennebec County, Marden, J.) dismissing their complaint against James C. Hayes (a physician), for failure to state a claim in that the present action was not brought within the statute of limitations period applicable to actions for professional negligence.
