Petitioner brought this habeas corpus proceeding in the District Court for the Northern District of Indiana under 28 U. S. C. § 2241,1 claiming that his conviction, for murder in the Circuit Court'of Gibson County, Indiana, was obtained in violation of the Fourteenth Amendment. *396The District Court dismissed the writ, 153 F. Supp. 531, under the provision of 28 U. S.
