Karen Spease and Craig Spease, Appellants, filed suit against several defendants, including the Honorable Kathleen Oli-vares, Judge of the 205th District Court of El Paso County, Texas. This civil suit arises out of Appellants’ detention at the Sierra Blanca checkpoint by federal agents, their later indictment on State charges for possession of marijuana, and the eventual dismissal of those charges in a case or cases pending before Judge Oli-vares.
