OPINION OF THE COURT

MALLOY, Judge:

The appellant was charged with possessing approximately 17 pounds of marijuana with the intent to distribute, in violation of Article 112a, UCMJ, 10 USC § 912a, and conspiring with Staff Sergeant (SSgt) Christopher Houston to possess with the intent to distribute this same marijuana, in violation of Article 81, UCMJ, 10 U.S.C. § 881. The appellant pleaded not guilty to both charges. He was convicted by a general court-martial, composed of officer and enlisted members, of the former offense and acquitted of the latter offense.
