PER CURIAM: *

This case focuses on what has come to be known as a “ruse checkpoint.” Here, police officers placed a sign on the shoulder of Highway 1-49 in rural Louisiana advising drivers that a narcotics checkpoint was ahead. There was, however, no actual checkpoint. The sign was placed a short distance before drivers reached the exit for Asseff Road, a gravel road with no services such as gas stations, restaurants, or hotels.
