The plaintiff has appealed from orders of the Superior Court allowing the defendants’ motions for summary judgment. The plaintiff’s claims stem from alleged misconduct by his employer and by the police in their investigation of a break-in at the employer’s business, an investigation that led to no criminal charges but that resulted in the termination of the plaintiff’s employment.2 The Appeals Court affirmed the order granting summary judgment in favor of the employer and its president, but reversed in part with respect to the defendant police officer and the town that employed him.
