1Opinion of the CourtJustice McMORROW

The question presented in this appeal is whether an individual sheet of a nominating petition which is filed pursuant to section 7 — 10 of the Election Code (10 ILCS 5/7 — 10 (West 1994)) is rendered invalid if the address set forth within the circulator’s affidavit at the bottom of the petition sheet does not match the address where the circulator of the sheet is registered to vote. The fifth district of the appellate court answered this question affirmatively. 1 278 Ill. App. 3d 163. We granted leave to appeal (155 Ill. 2d R. 315) and now reverse the judgment of the appellate court.
