This suit was commenced in the Circuit Court of Cook County on July 3, 1874, by the appellee to recover damages for personal injuries received July 5, 1872. On the latter day, appellee was riding in a buggy westward on Eighteenth street in the city of Chicago and came to Stewart Avenue, along which the railroad tracks of the appellant, ten or twelve in number, run from north to south and from north-east to south-west.
