As a preliminary statement of the. questions raised, sufficient to assist in the application of the evidence, it may be said that plaintiff claims that the deed in controversy was made to her father, Peter Johnson, by W, H. Davis, the vendor of Amos L. Tullis, to secure the repayment of $400, money advanced by Johnson to Tullis, to pay for the property, and that by later agreements the property was to be held by Johnson as security for the repayment of money advanced to pay the cost of material, to pay a judgment on mechanic’s lien,' and to pay taxes and insurance and the expénse of the…
