The defendants appeal from judgments against them on claims for State and Federal civil rights violations and intentional infliction of emotional distress, *121arguing, among other things, that the trial judge should not have allowed a motion to amend the complaint to add the intentional infliction of emotional distress claim. On cross ap- • peal, the plaintiff argues that incorrect principles were applied in determining the award of attorney’s fees. We reverse in part and remand for a new trial.
