In this cause the complainant, Falls Manufacturing Company, a corporation of Granite Falls, North Carolina, by the original bill seeks to recover against the defendant, W. W. Barbour, engaged in the cotton business of Memphis on a draft and bill of lading for six bales of cotton.

The bill alleges in substance that on or about the 8th day of August, 1927, the defendant negotiated a certain negotiable shippers order bill of lading, purporting to have been issued by Illinois Central Railroad Company, at Memphis, for the transportation of six bales of cotton shipped from Memphis, Tennessee, to…
