When the relationship between the companies and individuals involved in a limited partnership broke down, the aggrieved limited partner sued the other partners and their owner, alleging that they breached successive partnership agreements and committed or conspired to commit statutory and common-law fraud and breaches of the duties of loyalty and care. The plaintiff sought the same two categories of actual damages for every theory of liability, and the jury assessed the same damages against at least one of the defendants under each cause of action submitted.…
