The plaintiffs filed the instant action, alleging that the defendants violated their civil rights under 42 U.S.C. § 1981, and alleging several state law claims including assault, battery, false imprisonment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent hiring, training, supervision and retention, and loss of consortium. The plaintiffs also seek attorney’s fees under 42 U.S.C. § 1988. This matter is now before the court on the defendants’ motion for summary judgment [Doc. No. 22-1].
