This was an action by Alvis against Morris and Company, Incorporated, to recover damages for a personal injury received by falling into an open elevator shaft •on the premises of the defendant. This is the second time this case has been before this court. It is first reported as Morris & Co. v. Alvis, 130 Va. 434, 107 S. E. 664.
