This is an appeal by defendant from an adverse judgment for $56,234 entered upon the verdict of a jury in an action to recover damages from fire to some bonded whisky which was stored in a room in defendant’s warehouse in Chicago.
The first two counts of plaintiff’s declaration, as amended, were the usual counts in bailment, alleging that plaintiff had delivered cases of whisky to the bonded warehouse of defendant, for which defendant issued warehouse receipts to plaintiff, but so carelessly and negligently kept the same that a…
