Plaintiff appellant herein brought this action against the Margo Equipment Company, Inc., a corporation, seeking damages for personal injuries sustained when she fell into defendant’s basement through a cellar hole in a public sidewalk in front of defendant’s place of business on Manchester Avenue in the City of St. Louis. The jury returned a verdict for plaintiff for $2,000.00 and, thereafter, defendant’s motion for judgment in accordance with its motion for a directed verdict was sustained by the trial court and the jury’s verdict was set aside and a judgment was…
