Plaintiff brought an action of assumpsit against the defendant for breach of an alleged oral contract of employment, for the term of one year, as superintendent of the defendant’s factory at Dickson, Tenn. By agreement of counsel, the case was referred to, and heard by, a referee. The referee found for the plaintiff in the amount of $1,685.25. The defendant filed exceptions to the referee’s findings of fact and conclusions of law, which were dismissed by the court; and judgment was entered in favor of the plaintiff in the sum of $1,151.74, by agreement.
