Plaintiffs in error, John Mulford and Jesse Hull, were indicted in the circuit court of Pike county. The first count of the indictment charged them with larceny in Pike County, Illinois, of seven black-and-white-spotted hogs of the value of $140, the property of Lee Stout. The second count charged them with larceny of the same hogs in Brown county and the subsequent transportation of said hogs into Pike county. By the third count they were charged with receiving said hogs for their own gain, knowing the same to have been stolen. Both defendants pleaded not guilty and were tried by a jury.…
