A jury convicted appellants, Charles E. Mobley, Dante Carpenter (aka Cornell Swangin), and Gerald A. Thompkins,' of multiple criminal offenses arising from the firing of numerous gunshots at a nightclub in the Northeast quadrant of the District of Columbia, a police chase of the perpetrators, and alleged, efforts by two of the co-defendants to obstruct justice and to attempt tampering with physical evidence. 1 Appellants raise multiple challenges to their convictions.
