The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant in January, 1948. He was seeking payment for services he claimed to have rendered to the defendant during the period from September 18,1938, to February 17,1947. The services were described in general terms as those of agent for and distributor and salesman of parking meters in several named communities in Connecticut.
