Eric P. Douglas (“Appellant”) appeals his convictions of assault in the first degree, a violation of section 565.050, and armed criminal action, a violation of section 571.015. 1 He was sentenced as a prior and persistent offender under section 558.016, RSMo Cum.Supp.2005, for a term of twenty-five years on each count, with the terms to be served consecutively.
