On the 23d of February, 1855, the ‘Beaver Manufacturing Company, by its treasurer, made its promissory note for $2500, (without interest,) to the order of John Thompson, payable at the Wakefield Bank, at six months after date. In the view I take of this case, it is unnecessary to present an analysis of the authorities cited by the counsel; as to which there is some real and *604more seeming conflict.
