MAY, Judge:

Appellant was convicted contrary to his pleas, by general court-martial, military judge alone, of possession of a prohibited drug with intent to distribute and of distribution of that drug in violation of Article 134, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. § 934. He was sentenced to a bad conduct discharge, confinement at hard labor for 9 months, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and reduction to pay grade E-l. The convening authority approved only so much of the sentence as provided for a bad conduct discharge, confinement at hard labor for 6 months and 17 days,…
