Carter sued the railroad company for damages resulting from the breach of a contract of shipment which the defendant had entered into with the plaintiff On the trial *39the plaintiff introduced in evidence a receipt signed by an agent of the defendant, of which the following is a copy: “Received from -W. R. Carter the following articles in apparent good order, contents and value unknown, as per.coupon attached, to be transported to W. R.' Carter, McRae, Ga.,” setting forth the articles shipped.
