This is a proceeding in mandamus to compel the defendants to perform the duties imposed upon them by law in regard to the calling and holding of elections, and in particular in respect to the special election to be held throughout the State of Oregon on June 4, 1917. It is alleged that the defendants, who are the county commissioners, county judge, clerk, and the sheriff of Curry County, refuse to take steps required by law or to give the notices necessary in respect to such special election, and declare that they will not take the steps required…
