The defendant, April Pope, is charged with the crimes of *509criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree (Penal Law § 170.25), and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second and third degrees (Vehicle and Traffic Law § 511 [2] [a] [iv]; [1] [a]). She has moved to suppress an allegedly forged New York State driver’s license taken from her when her automobile was stopped at a police checkpoint on a residential street, at the corner of West 174th Street and Grand Avenue, in the Bronx.
