Plaintiffs are private bankers engaged in business in Philadelphia and other cities. The West Indies Importing Company applied to them for letters of credit to be used in connection with its importing business. Plaintiffs suggested to applicant the necessity of having letters issued through its bank, whereupon the matter was taken up with the cashier óf the Mt.
