On April 27, 1915, the People, on the relation of the Golconda Northern Railway and six individuals, filed an information in the nature of quo warranto in the circuit court of White county against the Toledo, St. Louis and New Orleans Railroad Company and the Gulf Lines Connecting Railroad of Illinois. The chief object of the proceeding is to prevent either of said respondents from constructing a railroad on a right of way one hundred feet wide, extending from the city of Carmi, in White county, to a point near Brookport, in Massac county, a distance of about eighty miles.
