RIPPLE, Circuit Judge.
Two prison inmates brought actions under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 against various prison officials. Both eases require this court to revisit an issue addressed in Sellers v. United States, 902 F.2d 598 (7th Cir.1990): the adequacy of the efforts of the United States Marshals Service to serve process on behalf of litigants proceeding in forma pauperis. Accordingly, we have consolidated the appeals for decision. For the reasons set forth in the following paragraphs, we affirm in part, vacate the judgments of the district court in part, and remand the cases for further proceedings…
