QUINN, Chief Justice.

We granted certiorari to review the decision of the court of appeals in People v. Russo, 677 P.2d 386 (Colo.App.1983), which reversed the defendant’s conviction for second degree kidnapping, and first degree sexual assault, the jury’s special finding that the defendant committed a crime of violence, and the judgment and life sem tence imposed for habitual criminality.
