In August, 1943, the defendants John N. Davies, Hazel Davies and Dora Coldren, and Edson Coldren (the latter now deceased) were the owners of certain real property in Springfield, Oregon, upon which there had been erected a building, a portion of which was used as a motion-picture theatre. The plaintiffs claim that, on or about August 1, 1943, they entered into possession of the theatre as tenants. Their complaint alleges that their occupancy was preceded by an agreement, whereby the owners leased the premises to them for a term of five years at a rental of $62.50 per month, payable monthly…
