OPINION
Following a jury trial in the circuit court of Peoria County, defendant, Aaron Houston, was convicted of armed robbery (720 ILCS 5/18 — 2(a) (West 2000)). The circuit court sentenced him to 20 years’ imprisonment. A divided appellate court affirmed defendant’s conviction and sentence (People v. Houston, 363 Ill.
