MEMORANDUM OPINION AND ORDER

CASTILLO, District Judge.

Edna Ellis (“Ellis”) filed suit under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 and Illinois common law, claiming that the City of Chicago (“City”) violated her civil rights and state public policy when it discharged her without a hearing in retaliation for complaints she made against co-workers. Defendant seeks dismissal of all counts under Rule 12(b)(6) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure for failure to state a claim upon which relief can be granted.
