Plaintiffs in this case, Judson and Stayce Hawthorne (collectively referred to as the “Hawthornes”), have brought an action against American Mortgage, Inc. (“American Mortgage”) and Countrywide Home Loans, Inc. (“Countrywide”). American Mortgage was the Hawthornes’ mortgage broker. Countrywide is a mortgage lender with whom American Mortgage was working to finance the Hawthornes’ purchase of the home of their dreams.
