At the time Strawn purchased the premises in controversy, there is little doubt that some sort of agreement existed between him and Hurham Reeve, by which the latter should be allowed to pay to the former the amount of the purchase-money and interest, and entitle himself to a conveyance of the land. Reeve insists, that Strawn agreed to loan him the funds necessary to purchase in the land, and to take a deed to himself, by way of mortgage, to secure its repayment, and that the money paid by Strawn for the land was the money thus loaned.
