Angel Luis Gonzalez-Rivera (“Gonzalez”), a long-term disability plan (“the LTD plan”) beneficiary, brought suit against the LTD plan’s claims administrator, Continental Casualty Company (“CNA”), alleging that the denial of further LTD benefits violated the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (“ERISA”), 29 U.S.C. §§ 1001-1461. Defendants Citibank, N.A. (“Citibank”) and CNA (collectively, “defendants”) moved for summary judgment. (Docket No. 28.)
