This appeal, and another separate appeal, entitled In re Estate of Carpenter, reported in 232 Iowa 919, 5 N. W. 2d 175, involve rulings of the court in estate matters presented separately both in the trial court and in this court. Some matters of procedure and of fact form a background in both appeals which throw some light on the issues involved, and we set them out here to avoid repetition in the other opinion.
