OPINION OF THE COURT

WERNER, Senior Judge:

Contrary to his pleas, the appellant was convicted by a general court-martial, composed of a military judge sitting alone, of making a false official statement with intent to deceive and aggravated assault in violation of Articles 107 and 128, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. §§ 907 and 928 (1988) [hereinafter UCMJ]. He was sentenced to a bad-conduct discharge, confinement for twenty months, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and reduction to Private El.
